I have wanted this SSB for years ever since it was released, but several years back I made the naive mistake of ordering a cheaper version from elsewhere not realising how important it is to have the angle between the front facing safety handles and the arms that the weight plates hang straight down on. On my cheaper one there was no angle resulting in the weight plates sticking straight forward at the side of me at the same angle as the handles - this results in a HUGE forward weight/motion trying to constantly throw you forward onto your face, it is impossible to balance the bar especially when squatting up as the forward force is too great. With the Strength shop version there is none of that leaving you to just concentrate on powering up and down through your legs/hips without doing a circus balancing act. When it arrives it is simply an awesome piece of kit, thick tubing and welding all round and with very thick trap/shoulder padding and support that will not sink even under the heaviest of loads. To use it just feels great and extremely satisfying - no more strained shoulders and tendons which completely **** up heavy bench pressing for days afterwards because the whole shoulder capsule is so sore. You really do get what you pay for with this bar as you do with any of the Strength Shop products. Money Extremely Well Invested in return for thousands of hours of enjoyment for years to come.

After realising that Official Calibrated Plates are 450mm in Diameter, and my own were only 420mm I worked out that I was putting myself in a much worse starting position during deadlifts as the bar height was naturally sitting lower down my shins, and already with long femurs and short arms getting upright at the start is nigh on impossible. Ordered these 20kg Beauties in the 30% Black Friday Sale and what a Brilliant Surprise these things are!!! Awesome, precise, clean cut looking plate which measures EXACTLY 450mm in Diameter the same as an IPF Calibrated 20kg plate. I have many 20kg Discs and none get remotely close to how snug and tightly these things fit over the Olympic sleeves on my Deadlift bar. Can instantly see and feel the difference in start height and with virtually no slack in the bar I can see me obliterating Thor next year LMAO

I thought belts were just for the pros. I couldn't justify the real leather ones and fabric ones on other sites seemed cheap and pointless. These are stiff enough to allow me to maintain proper form by providing something for me to brace against - without being restrictive. The lever makes it easy to pop on when I get to the main sets and get the benefit from a belt. It really makes such a difference, everyone weight training should get one of these!

Noticeable difference swapping from basic deck shoes. Fit came up small but Strength Shop sorted out a replacement for me with no quibbles. Great shoes - great shop!

Arrived quickly. Good price. Works well, dries quickly and needs less applications than others used. Also solvent does not smell as bad as some others used.
